About AIXP

Arusha Internet Exchange Point (AIXP). A local peering point for Tanzania's northern circuit.

AIXP keeps traffic between Arusha-based and northern-zone networks local, cutting the latency and cost of routing through Dar es Salaam or abroad.

Local Traffic Retention

AIXP is the internet exchange point for Arusha City. It is a Tanzania Internet Service Providers Association (TISPA) project, initially funded by the Tanzania Communications Regulatory Authority (TCRA).

Reduced Latency & Cost

By giving networks in the north a nearby exchange, AIXP shortens the path between local ISPs, enterprises, and content platforms serving Arusha and the surrounding region.

Neutral Peering Facility

Hosted at Arusha, providing a reliable and open interconnection ecosystem for network operators.

Connected Regional Ecosystem

Serving Arusha and the wider Arusha Region with robust infrastructure and stable peering ports.

Keeping local internet traffic local, faster, and cheaper.

Established as a TCRA-funded TISPA project, located at Arusha. Connected address: Arusha, Tanzania.
